Vendor configuration review

After go-live, the configuration is the system. We review what was switched on, what was left at default, and what was customised in ways that will be hard to support.

Typical duration: One to three weeks

Quiet office interior with desks and large windows

This engagement is useful when a project has closed, a vendor has handed over, or a new records manager inherits a tenancy they did not design. We work from the live settings and from whatever design papers still exist.

We do not re-implement the application. We document drift from the original design, unused features that create risk, and settings that contradict the records policy you asked us to hold the system against.

Where the vendor’s standard setup is reasonable, we say so. Where it leaves search, audit, or disposal unusable, we write the change list in the vendor’s own terms so you can take it back to them.

What we examine

  • Information architecture versus actual use
  • Search schema and crawled properties
  • Audit logging and admin role design
  • Custom scripts, add-ins, and unsupported tweaks
  • Handover documentation compared with production

What you receive

A configuration commentary and a change list you can hand to the vendor or internal administrators.
